What's your definition of long? I thought Lord of the Rings was more an average read. Plus my sister has books that are way bigger than LotR.I don't mind long stories, I enjoy longer, but not Lord Of The Rings long.

My definition of long would be 700 pages onwards. I tend to read books from 400-500 pages long, which is fine. I also hate books which dictate every little tiny detail; I know a certain book I won't be reading again after taking about 5 pages to describe a patch of GRASS.

Ursula K. LeGuin has some fantastic books. The most recent one I read by her was called Voices.
She's also the Author of the "Earthsea trilogy" and is responsible for my internet alias "Sparrowhawk".

R.A Salvatore, Raymond E. Feist, Sara Douglass, Emily Rodda and J.K Rowling, to name a few. There's a few authors I like whose names I cannot for the life of me remember though.
Let us finish this! It is the path of your choosing!

After re-reading 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea two months ago...
Jules Verne. I'm going to read the sequel soon and find out what ultimately happens to Captain Nemo.

Oh yeah I like Jules Vern, HG Wells, and Dickens even though he's a bit wordy.

I also seem to like Lovecraft somewhat, not too enthralled in the writer but it does give me ideas for villains and monsters for games I'd make.
