Your Favorite Book Writer!
Okay, I do have to admit, I barely ever read anymore. But I would like to get back into the habit of it. I used to read a lot, and I think if I heard other people's books and favorite authors, it might help me get back into them.
So yeah; tell us your favorite novel writers, book authors, weather its Fantasy, Sci Fi, Fact, Religeous, Gorey, Romantic...you get the idea.
I've been reading a bunch of books starting with "Under The Eagle" by Simon Scarrow. It's all based in the Roman age and I love the bloody, gorey deaths and battle scenes. Scarrow seems to be my favorite writer at the moment.

I used to read the "Encyclopedia" books by Daniel Cohen about 8 years ago. The ones I had access to were Encyclopedia of Monsters and Encyclopedia of the Dead(or urban myths. I can't remember the titles).
Aesop's fables is always another favorite of mine. In fact, its THE favorite of mine.

Make sure you get the paperback one. The hardcover is just full of failed attempts to turn cryptozoology into lies.

I'll remember that then.
I'm about to read another book by a Harry Sidebottom. It's about a Roman fighter and was given about 5 stars by 4 different people.

Re: Your Favorite Book Writer!
The only book I've read fully in my life is the book about Harry Potter, because it was very popular. All other books I started to read are books connected with my education, but I use them like an information source, not like something just to read for fun.that's surprising, coming from you. I would've thought you liked to read.I dont have favourite writers. I barely read any books.
I know, I'm weird, hehe.

I am in the same situation right now.Okay, I do have to admit, I barely ever read anymore. But I would like to get back into the habit of it. I used to read a lot[...]
My favorite author is Charles de Lint. He is a Canadian author who writes fantasy books. I recommend any of his books that take place in the city of Newford. Those ones have been my favorites.
DON'T read The Riddle of the Wren it was dreadful. Also don't read The Harp of the Grey Rose it looks dreadful too. (I blame this on the fact that these were his earliest works.)

Are they particularly long books? Long books bore me too much.

Re: Your Favorite Book Writer!
I don't know, some of them are kinda longish I guess. Do you like short stories? He has quite a few books that are a collection of short stories. (If you do like short stories I will list some of these out for you.)

I don't mind long stories, I enjoy longer, but not Lord Of The Rings long.
